How did you think up such a fun site?

How did you think up such a fun site?
We met using the theory of 'Ticking the Boxes' and the 'Swoon Factor' that this site is based on!

We researched and found that people who meet in person are 10 times more likely to be successful in finding a relationship than people that search online.

We also chatted to our friends who have been on a lot of dating sites and are a bit bored of them. Basically, they just wanted to meet like-minded people without the online palaver!

 

On the date how will I meet the other people if we don't have each other's contact details and I don't know what they look like?
Once a date is accepted, we send an email to each person which will include details on how to meet. The person booking the date enters details such as "meet me in the Burke St entrance, under the sign, I'll be wearing blue" or the booking is under 'Anne'.

You can also contact each other half an hour before the dates starts. Just log into CitySwoon and click the contact button on the date.

 

What if no one joins my date and the date cut-off has passed?
We will give you your token back that so that you can book another date.

 

Are tokens refundable if I meet someone on the first date?
No. Once you have purchased tokens they are not refundable.

 

What happens if the other person doesn't show up for the date?
We take no shows very seriously! We will refund your token. If you were the only person that showed up for the date, we will also give you an extra token for free.

The person who stood you up will forfeit tokens from their account and may be banned from the site. See our Rules for dating.

 

How do I contact someone after the date if I haven't given my personal details to them on the date?
We recommend that you don't give out your personal details. Once you have been on your date and given feedback you can contact them via CitySwoon. This works like a regular dating site with full anonymous messaging capabilities, plus photos, so that you can put names to faces!

 

Can I browse the profiles of other CitySwooners?
You can only see or contact other members after you have been on date with them.

 

Can I prevent people from making unwanted contact?
Yes, you may block other members. If you receive a message from someone who you do not want contacting you, select the 'Block' button to the right of the message and their messages will be blocked from your inbox.

 

Can I unblock a previously blocked member?
Yes. Go to the messages tab and then select 'Blocked' from the sub-menu. You will be able to unblock any members you have previously blocked on this page. Once you have unblocked a member you will then receive any previously blocked messages from this member.

 

Do I have to pay to contact other members of CitySwoon after we have met?
No. It is free to contact each other in CitySwoon.

 

Will my private information such as address and email be available to other members?
Absolutely not. Your last name, address, emails and other personal information are kept confidential at all times. We only give your first name for the date. For more information see our privacy policy.
